Aeon Flux

Æon Flux was an avant-garde science fiction animated television series created by Korean American animator Peter Chung. It premiered in 1991 on MTV’s Liquid Television experimental animation show. The series was very cutting edge in all respects from the style to the ambiguous story telling.

The motion picture was directed by Karyn Kusama with Charlize Theron playing the leading role. This movie got panned, but I like it. The clean stylization of the production design, costume designs and storyline work well together. Fight scenes could have been more sophisticated but I think overall the movie is worth a second look. I always recommend checking movies like this out on Blu Ray or other high end system. Netflix and online streaming streaming reduces the detail and beauty of the imagery.
