From The Archives- Peer Portraits
More art for my first retrospective book with Titan Publishers.
This portrait of Vivienne Flesher (graphite, acrylic, oil, on board) was part of one of my first journalistic assignments I initiated upon moving to NYC in 1983. The concept was to create a series of portraits of up and coming illustrators living in the city. It was a way to meet more illustrators like myself and also expand the breadth of my portfolio. When the series was finished a year later, Print Magazine published all ten artist’s portraits in an article called, Peer Portraits.
More of this series will be seen in, The Art of Greg Spalenka: Visions from the Mind’s Eye to be released in July 2014, at the San Diego Comic Con.
