Must have completed Introduction to Entertainment Design
Must have an iPad with Procreate or laptop computer with Photoshop
For serious teens and up
We expand upon concept design principles used in the film, games and publishing industries and begin to build the visual intelligence of your worlds. Students must have some proficiency in drawing, and in Photoshop.
DAY ONE- Props can be as simple as a sword, or as complex as a computer. Vehicles can also be as simple as a row boat or as complex as a Star Ship Destroyer. The story drives the design. After deciding on the genre and audience of the story we will sketch ideas for props and vehicles that are a needed in a specific scene. Producing a simple style guide will begin this journey.
We keep pushing the limits of what these designs can be.
DAY TWO- We will choose a favorite prop and vehicle and bring it into Photoshop to refine further. The goal is to create professional pieces of art.
MATERIALS
Graphite sticks, pencils, kneaded eraser, stick/barrel eraser, sketchbook, and iPad with Procreate or laptop computer with Photoshop.
